Feb 2018 – Lup Global
Big News!
People talked, we listened. Introducing: Lup Global!
We received a lot of feedback from members and networks that ‘Social Entrepreneurs Network’ was causing a bit of confusion for people. After a lot of testing, we are very excited to introduce Lup Global! A small play on words, Lup (pronounced Loop) succinctly represents the closed-loop, global circular economy we are trying to achieve. www.senetwork.co is being retired and will redirect everyone to our new website: www.lupglobal.com. Similarly, our emails have been updated to info@www.lupglobal.com.Australia Post Revamp Network
We’re really looking forward to being a part of Australia’s Posts Revamp Network and attending our first quarterly meeting with them on Feb 21st. More details will come in the following months, but Australia Post has already been doing some fantastic work around the circular economies and have published an excellent white paper.Collaborating with CIPS UK
We had a very productive meeting with CIPS UK in London. Having already established a great relationship with CIPS in Australia, we’re working hard to collaborate further with CIPS as they expand their offices to the US, and how we can work together to help promote and improve global corporate sustainability.New Listings: Non-perishable food items and essential supplies
We currently have two listings for supply needs: Community Support Frankstonand FareShare (two of our founding members). They both need non-perishable food items and cooking / food preparation supplies, with CSF also seeking essential (life) supplies. If you are located in Australia and are able to help supply any of the required goods listed for these amazing not-for-profits, can connect them with others in your own network, or have any spare capacity that could go into assisting with the deliveries, storage and logistics for these charities, please get in touch with us at info@www.lupglobal.com.Active Listings: Wooden Skids & Timber Dunnage
We still have two similar listings: 1) Wooden skids and 2) Timber dunnage used to secure imports available from Melbourne. We have reached out to a number of companies including pallet recyclers, a cubby house company, a landscaping company, and a veggie patch company, however we need to connect with more groups as this is a big environmental issue for Australia. Solution may be the use of recycled plastic pallets. In our recent discussions with Veolia HQ in Paris, they shared with us trends showing an increase in the use and production of recycled plastic pallets. This is an exciting generational change that we are seeing, that will ultimately provide the world with a better solution than wooden pallets, as plastic pallets can be recycled again at the end of their lifecycle.
